Strange Names

Some people believe that dogs often have strange names. A name like mine, Aangenaam Lunar Eclips, is seen as very strange. At the same time, people think it is odd when they hear about dogs that go by names that are common among humans, such as Kjell or Bengt.

Well, humans can have odd names as well, as this story from New Zealand clearly shows.

Humans may change their names, if they want to. Dogs do cannot do the same, since humans chose our official names for us. On the other hand, I know of a lot of dogs who have chosen for themselves what names their humans may call them. One example is my dear Auntie Linni, who was first called Fujin, but decided to listen to humans better when they used the name Linni.
