European Union to Sack Journalists?
I read a news article, and could not believe my eyes. A report commissioned by the European Union says the EU should have a tight press regulation and officials employed by the EU should have control of national media supervisors, as well as new powers to enforce fines or even to sack journalists.
So far, I have not had time to read the full report. It is more than 50 pages. Could it be so bad as the above mentioned article says? Read it here and make up your own mind! I do wonder, however, why you would need so many pages just to say that mass media should be free from infringements by government officials.
