Administration

For a couple of evenings now, Daniel have spent a lot of time preparing for the ring stewards for the dog show that our lokal kennel club hosts in August. It is important to do these things early on. Administration of a dog show is almost the most important thing you can do as a human. Taking care of your dogs and the rest of the family is, of course, more important, but this is almost up there with those tasks. We are glad Daniel is entrusted with this important task.

Working at Home

All of us dogs always work at home. There are days when Daniel does the same. This was such a day. It is always nice to have him at home.

Then, in the evening, Paula and Daniel went away. They went to a political meeting in the centre of the town. I thought everyone would be home all day, but this was not to be.

However, the meeting was not long. They came home rather soon. The rest of the evening we were all at home. Life was great again.

Afternoon Walk with Rare Company

We took a rare walk this afternoon, because the participants were me, Peanut, Daniel, Paula, Pepe, and Totte. This is a rare constellation on a walk. In the mornings, for example. it is usually me, Peanut, and Daniel, often Morran, and occasionally Totte. Pepe often joined the walks last summer, but has been relictant to come along inte longer walks in the autumn and winter. Totte, as the cat that he is, selects the walks himself when he participates. The rare constellation on this afternoon walk was nice.

More Light

You can tell spring is coming. There is more and more daylight every day. This is a Saturday, so we did not wake up by the alarm clock. It was still rather early when we woke up, though, but in daylight. It always feels better to wake up and to go out for the first time of the day, when there is daylight outside. This makes life brighter.

Farfalle

We got some farfalle in our food today. This is a kind of pasta shakes so it looks a little like butterflies.

I do not care that much about the shape of the pasta, but pasta is tasty. It was a good addition to our food.

Tired

Paula visited the hospital for sometimes of procedure this morning. When she came back home, she was very tired. It was odd, but she lived down in the bed and slept in the middle of the day. She did not have to be alone, though. Me and the rest of the dogs kept her company and slept with her.

As a companion dog, this is part of the duty you have to your human. It is hard work, but it has to be done. I believe Paula was satisfied with the effort we did.

Old Culture

Japan has a very old culture. A sword and a mirror were recently found in a tomb from the fourth century.

Shiba is a very old breed. There may have been Shibas who knew the humans who owned this sword and this mirror.

It is interesting to read about old artifacts like this.

Postponed Membership?

Finland calls for a time out in the negotiations for membership in NATO. This is due to the heated debate between Turkey and Sweden. Finland and Sweden have said they want to join together. Turkey stall the applications, which has led to protests in Sweden.

It is a good idea to take a time out. Nothing goes well when the feelings are too heated. The negotiations can be resumed later.

Late

Tonight, I was almost too late writing in my blog. I managed to do it a couple of minutes before midnight, though. It was all right.

Colder

It is getting colder again.

This winter is weird. It is very mild some days, their turns considerably cold. It is supposed to be very mild again soon. We do ave a thin layer of snow now, but I wonder how long it will last. Snow has gåvopengar, gone, come, and gone.

There is an even temperature indoors, anyway.

Brush Up

Daniel was away on an important course today, a brush up course for ring stewards. Daniel is authorised as ring steward, but he has to keep up with new rules et cetera. This is important for dog shows and, thus, for dog breeding. We are proud of Daniel for this and believe that he is well worth to be away for a course like this. In the evening, Daniel was at home again.

A Whole Chicken

Paula cooked a whole chicken today. It was big, so all of us dogs got to taste it. Chicken meat is tasty.

I have heard of people cooking a whole pig. This would be more meat, thus, even better. It would be great to try this sometime.

Fair

It is the name day of Henrik, which has given the name to Hindersmässan, the annual winter fair in our home town. I usually stay away. There are too many humans there for a dog to be comfortable. It might be that Paula or Daniel buy some candy, though. Candy is always good, but you can enjoy it at home.

Meatballs

When Paula server us food today, we got meatballs. The main ingredient of meatballs is meat. It is great food. I wish we could have tasty and nutritious food like this more often. I like our dog food, but variations are great.

Takuma Sato to Join Indycar Team Chp Ganassi

The Japanese car race veteran Takuma Sato will drive for Chip Ganassi in Indycar next year. He will be a tough competitor in the same team as Swedish driver Marcus Ericsson. I believe Takuma Sato can make a terrorisera job. He has won the Indy 500 two times, whereas Marcus Ericsson has won it once.

Sport Awards

There was a live broadcast on TV from a gala where sportsmen and sportswomen were given awards for great achievements. I think this is a little unnecessary. The great sportswomen and sportsmen have already won what is important: the sport competitions where they participated.

Besides, there were no awards given to dogs.

New Mailbox

We have got a new mailbox now. It is black and brand new.

Daniel purchased the new mailbox, then he put it up.

In the evening, we celebrated with a strawberry cheesecake. This was the best part of getting a new mailbox.

Christmas Is Over

Yesterday night, Daniel took down the last Christmas ornaments. Christmas is over with the twentieth day of Christmas. He took everything out to store it until next Christmas. It feels a little sad not to have those Christmas lights on anymore. Now we have to look forward to Easter instead. There are treats abundant on Easter as well.

Unity

Some words stand for better things than other words. Unity is a good word. It stands for the union of dogs, of people, of everything, when we work together in harmony for a greater good. There is unity in the wolf pack between the wolves. There is unity in the family between dogs, humans, and cats. There is unity in an ideal world to work for a better future. In a better future, there is more peace, more freedom, and more meat to eat. Life is good with unity

Chicken

Paula and Daniel had chicken for dinner. Paula was full before she had finished. Peanut and I got to share the rest of the chicken. This was a great dinner.

The greatness of a dinner is not just about how tasty it is, it is also about how much of it you get. Some fancy restaurants have miniature portions of food, this is far from great. They also often do not allow dogs, which is outright wrong. Doggy bags may be all right, but why not allow the dogs in and get rid of those bags?

I wish we could have chicken more often.

Board Meeting

There was a board meeting for the county kennel club tonight. Daniel went there. I am glad he is an active member of the club, there is no other volunteer work that is more important. At the same time, I am glad he is home again. It is always best when everyone is at home.

Probably Mentally Fit Killer

The man who is suspected of killing former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has had a mental exam. He has been brought to the police, which probably means he is deemed mentally fit to stand trial and soon to be indicted for the murder.

It would be good if a trial could be held. In the best of worlds, no murderers would exist. In our world, the best is if all murderers would stand trial for the murders they are thought to have been committed. I will follow further news of the story.

Thaw Again

We got a lot of snow the other day. It was cold, lose snow, not so fun, but still snow. Now we have thaw again. It seems like the snow will never stay for more than a couple of days this winter. We have had it and lost it again many times. I want the snow to stay put. Unfortunately, this is not a thing I can decide upon. Maybe this is a good thing. What if I could decide upon the weather and everyone would get to know this? I would not want that kind of fame. Then it is easier to let the weather be as it may, and complain about it like humans always do.

The Mailbox

Our mailbox down by the road was damaged last night. A driver had slipped with his car and collided with it. He was an honest person, however, and left a note with his name and telephone number. He will reimburse us for a new mailbox.

We did wake up in the middle of the night because of some noise down by the street, but were too tired to go and investigate it. This explains what we heard.

Honest people are the best kind of people, I believe.

Too Sweet

Paula took some medicines this evening and swallowed it down with some Coca-Cola. She then complained this was too sweet.

She could hug me instead. I am always sweet in a proper amount.

Three Wise Men

It is the thirteenth day of Christmas, when we celebrate that three wise men came to visit baby Jesus. It does not really say they were three in the Bible, but they brought three gifts, so people have always thought they were three. By some accounts, these gifts were the origin of the Christmas presents. If this was the case, I guess everyone gives Christmas presents too early. Nevertheless, I wish I could have got some treats today in remembrance of the gifts from the wise men.

A Lot of Snow

When we got up this morning, we had had a lot of snow. It was so deep that the Chihuahuas got it on their breasts just by standing on the ground.

Daniel spent all morning shoveling snow. Luckily for him, it stopped snowing about the time when he was finished. Thus, he did not have to get out to shovel any more snow later in the day.

Some forecast said it will be thaw again next week. I hope not, it is better that the snow can stay for a while.

Past Midnight

I did not think of anything to write about, so I spent the night doing other things. Then it was suddenly past midnight. There will not be any blog post for the 4 January, but two for the 5 January. This must be OK under the circumstances. It probably annoys me more than most of my readers.

Cold Outside

It is getting colder outside. After a few days with temperatures going up and down around the freezing point, it is now several degrees colder. It is nice to be warm indoors.

Pie

Daniel made a ham and cheese pie for dinner tonight. Paula ate a lot of it, she said it was good. The best thing is that Paula has got her wish to eat back. She needs this in order to get back to her normal, healthy self. Pie is generally good, but if you do not want to eat, the good taste does not help. We will surely see a stronger Paula this year. I also wish for more pies.

My Tab

When I borrow Daniel’s tablet to write in my blog, Daniel and I have a silent understanding. There is one tab in the internet browser that is mine, and that always stay tuned to my blog. Paula does not know about this understanding. She borrowed the tablet for a while this afternoon, and when I borrowed it this evening, she had used my tab to read other web pages. It does not take long to enter the web address for my blog and go back there to write my daily blog post, but it would be annoying if this happened often.

At first, I thought I would just tell Paula about my tab. On the other paw, this would end the silent part of the silent agreement that Daniel and I have. I can hope she reads this blog entry and take a hint. I know Paula, she is smart enough to do so.

Other than this, we have had a nice and relaxing New Year’s Day. I hope you have, as well.
