Cosmic Collision
A huge gas cloud falls towards the Milky Way galaxy, where we live. Its speed relative to the galaxy is about 24 kilometres per second, so it is really fast. It is huge, too, 11,000 light years long and 2,500 light years wide. However, it is still so far away that it will not reach our galaxy for at least 20 million years. There is thus no cause for alarm. It is still interesting to know that human science may foresee some things that will happen so far into the future.
