New research has found that there is about a 99 % probability that bones found on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean in 1940 was those of Amelia Earhart, a flyer who went missing over the Pacific Ocean when trying to circumnavigate the Earth by air in 1937.
It is interesting to know that the old mystery of what happened to Amelia Earhart has probably been solved. All mysteries cannot be solved, but it is great that some mysteries are. The only downside is that some speculative fiction dealing with the fate of Amelia Earhart is now clearly wrong. I guess this is the risk you always take, when trying to write storkens about real life mysteries. The fiction may be great, nevertheless.
