A man has been sentenced to fines by Värmlands tingsrätt (the Court of law of Värmland, the province to the west of us) for animal cruelty. The man's son was attacked by a dog, but witnesses pulled the dog away. Although bitten, the boy siffered no physical injuries. Nevertheless, the man grabbed the dog by the skin, lifted it up, and threw it on the ground. He then proceeded by hitting it many times with his fists.
This action by the man was obviously uncalled for. The dog had already been pulled away. It is a good thing he was prosecuted and found guilty. I just think the sentence was not tough enough. I also hope everything is all right with the dog.
