It is spring, and the Sun is above the horizon longer and longer each day. On the other hand, Earth's rotation has increased slightly by the recent earthquake in Chile, making
each day a little shorter. While the annual shift in daylight is noticeable, the change due to the earthquake is not. According to NASA, the shift was only about a microsecond. This is a length of time that I cannot imagine, it is so short. Nevertheless, it is a fun little fact to know of.
