Fifty Years of Smurfs

The small, blue characters called smurfs turn 50 years old today. They were first introduced in a comic strip in 1958. Most smurfs are blue. Since I am black myself, I find it a bit sad that the only black smurfs had that colour because they were infected by an illness and became evil.
